Toscani Pizzeria, our second Italian restaurant in the Lunch in Fort Wayne series enjoyed on February 1, 2013.
Toscani Pizzeria was another great downtown restaurant with fantastic atmosphere. A variety of standard Italian dishes were ordered including the Fettuccine Alfredo Special with a side salad, the Chicken Fettuccine
Alfredo, the Manicotti w/ Ricotta & Romano Cheese and the Fresh Sausage Pizza with a Garlic Cheese bread appetizer. All

around there was some slight disappointment due to the lack of free bread sticks, but the lunch specials did include pieces of garlic bread. The alfredo sauce was not a favorite, and unfortunately cannot be recommended. Also, the point was made that for a pizzeria their pizza menu lies in the shadow of their pasta menu. Although, the fresh sausage pizza was fantastic and highly recommended.
The interior is simple and flavorful, but there may be a tad too many flying pigs around even if they are a unique touch.
With all of these things in mind the ratings come to:
8 – BG
8 – BS
7.75 – NZ
8 – MS
A disappointingly low rating for a reasonably good restaurant. This final rating simply shows that even a reasonably good restaurant can make enough mistakes to land them a poor rating.
